Kylie at ARIA Hall of Fame - Soon

Today marks just over 48 hours 'til the 25th Anniversary ARIA Awards gets underway at Sydney's Allphones Arena.

And ARIA organisers have today officially unveiled another little nugget of information about just who will induct our own Kylie Minogue and The Wiggles into the ARIA Hall Of Fame.

For Kylie, the inductors don't come much bigger than Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard.
According to ARIA's statement, "The Prime Minister and Kylie met earlier this year in Japan when they were guests at the Australian Embassy fundraising dinner for the Japan tsunami disaster. The pop princess and the Prime Minister struck up a friendship over the dinner and both look forward to meeting each other again under much happier circumstances."

Meanwhile for The Wiggles, it's all about acclaimed Aussie actor David Wenham, who we're told knows all the words to the group's megahit 'Hot Potato'.
And more presenters have also been confirmed - Stevie Nicks and Richard Wilkins, The Divinyls' Chrissy Amphlett, Ruby Rose and James Amphlett are added to the previously announced names which include Delta Goodrem, Ricki-Lee, Katie Noonan, Molly Meldrum, Adam Hills and Good Charlotte's Benji and Joel Madden.
The 25th Annual ARIA Awards hit Sydney's Allphones Arena this Sunday, November 27 and will be telecast on GO! from 7:30pm.

Can't wait to see this one!!!!

Kylie All Over Australia

Hey all, this piece of news is taken from the fab AuspOp blog. I love this pic of this album sampler. Must get my hands on this one. Only a few more days until Les Folies is finally released on DVD. I know what I will be watching when I recieve it in the post in December. So can't wait!!!!

It's a big week for Kylie fans in Australia. Our homegrown pop princess arrived in Sydney over the weekend, ready for her star turn on the X Factor grand final shows tonight and tomorrow night.
On Sunday, she's at the 25th Annual ARIA Awards at Allphone Arena, where she'll be inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame.
And in amongst all of that, fans will reportedly finally get their mitts on the long-awaited Goddess Edition books, as well as the 'Aphrodite : Les Folies' live DVD, live CD and live 3D BluRay releases.
It's for the latter trio that Warner has serviced a little five track sampler this morning - resplendent with a gorgeous, homegrown packshot (pictured).
It features five live recordings from the concert, including Kylie's biggest hit 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head', 'comeback' single 'Spinning Around', 'On A Night Like This', album title track 'Aphrodite' and the amazing Eurythmics cover 'There Must Be An Angel (Playing With My Heart)' which was the perfect showcase for Kylie's live vocal.
'Aphrodite Les Folies – Live In London' is released on Friday.

Songs

This is way overdue, but here is a selection of songs I have been listening to for the past few weeks and even months (been that long since I posted last songs I love).
Enjoy my pretties.

Come On - Will Young
I so love this song, and his whole album Echoes. The video is maybe not that great, but it is cute on occasion.

Lightning - Wanted
Love this, and it seems everything the Wanted put out these days. I especially love the 90's production that comes near the end of the song. Pop at its finest, and can't wait for the new album

Spinning Around (Live) - Cosmo Jarvis
OMG this is a fantastic version of Kylie's classic hit from 2000. I just can't stop listening to this one, they deliver in such a fantastic way.

Touch Me - Electric Ladylab
This is such a fantastic mashup/cover. They do it brilliantly. I have loved every single they have released so far. I think I have to get their album

Wepa - Gloria Estefan
What can I say, this song is both highly addictive and mental. You feel exhausted after listening to it once. Love it

Shake it Out - Florence and the Machines
I have not been that fond on Florence, but this song really grabbed me. I have liked some of her songs, but now it seems I am hooked. Maybe I should go out and check her new stuff along with her old. Love it.

I'm Still Hot - Luciana vs Betty White
This is simply hilarious. Betty White in a pop/dance video and singing. Priceless

Hi Fashion - I'm Not Madonna
Love the lyrics and fantastic beat.

Fear and Loathing & Radioactive - Marina and the Diamonds
Love it, can't wait to hear a new album from her.

Moves Like Jagger - Maroon 5 feat. Christina Aguilera
I just can't seem to get enough of this fantastic upbeat song. Love it, love it, love it. They should have skipped Christina though, and put more shots of Adam Levine performing without his shirt on.

Lucky Star - Gravitonas
So daman catchy, and as usual, a fab song from the fantastic Alexander Bard and his new band Gravitonas

Who's Laughing Now - Jessie J
This song is so spot on and one that Pink has been trying to do for years. The video is hilarious, especially the creepy lunch lady and the teacher. Priceless.

Kylie's coming back

Kylie Minogue will release a new album next year on EMI, Music Week can confirm.
The LP has been recorded at Abbey Road and will contain reworkings of classics from throughout Minogue's career. It celebrates 25 years since the release of her debut single Locomotion.

Minogue was at Abbey Road last night as part of the EMI New Music Sessions. She revealed she’d actually been working there for the past two weeks, as well as details of the album.
The news comes after she tweeted pictures of herself inside a studio last month pointing towards a 12th album.

“I’ve been at Abbey Road for about two weeks in total,” she revealed after performing a stripped down, orchestral version of her 2000 hit ‘On A Night Like This’.

“Not just for this, I’ve been working on a project for next year. Next year’s my 25th anniversary so we’ve been recording acoustic and orchestral versions of a number of my hits.”

The Aussie singer went on to compliment the staff at Abbey Road saying commenting on a lack of ‘attitude’ at the studio despite the music icons it has accommodated over its illustrious history.

I am very excited about this, can't wait for the results, they should be fantastic. I have always wanted to hear some of her songs in a stripped down orchestral or acoustic versions. This should be fun

Director's Cut - Kate Bush, not so good :(

I have been waiting for some time to listen to Kate Bush's "Director's Cut" and I have finally managed to listen to it.

What can I say other then it is AWFUL. What the hell was the woman thinking? I have been a fan for a few years now and I own all her albums. I think she is a brilliant composer and producer who has done fantastic songs such as This Woman's Work, Moments of Pleasure, Wuthering Heights, Running up that Hill and many many more.

By making this album (a reworked collection of some older songs from the fab albums The Sensual World and The Red Shoes) she has not earned any points on my behalf. Like I said I have loved her for years, but I feel the reworkings of the songs on this album plain awful with perhaps the exception of Moments of Pleasure.

I just hope the new album is better than this, for I have a feeling I am not going to be listening to Director's Cut alot in the future. If anyone has heard this album, please let me know what you think, I can't be the only one who feels this way about these reworkings.
